Ceramics
Our ceramics are mostly sourced from small family owned manufacturers who have been creating beautiful ceramics in Japan for generations. Most pieces are hand finished and hand painted, and some are completely hand made. As glazes are dipped by hand and details are usually hand painted, there may be differences in the depth of colour, or slight differences in the designs.
Since 2006 some of our Japanese suppliers have begun manufacturing some of their designs in China. Please see the catalogue for which designs are manufactured in Japan, and which are manufactured in China. We can assure you that all ceramics are regularly tested for lead-cadmium by AGAL (Australian Government Analytical Laboratories) and have always passed every test.

Tea wares
All J Style teapots, whether sold individually or as part of a set, include a fine mesh metal infuser. They make preparing a pot of tea incredibly simple and easy to clean up. You will wonder why you ever bothered messing about with teabags when leaf tea is so much easier and tastes so much better!
